We are recruiting!

Friday 14th April 2023

Are you interested in being involved in mountain rescue? If you are looking for a challenge, would like to be involved in something worthwhile and develop new skills, we would love to hear from you!

Our team leader Lara Hinde is looking for new volunteers, including women, of which we’re underrepresented, with the motivation to develop and sustain mountain fitness, develop first aid skills and competence in a mountain environment any day, any time, in any weather. Ideally, we’re looking for people who live within or close to our area of operation.

We’re not looking for the finished article. If you are rusty with navigation, abseiling, knots, first aid, we’ll help you improve. You’ll have a year as a trainee to get acquainted, to train and learn the patch. After that, if you’re ready, then we’ll take you on and kit you out.

Training takes place on the first Sunday of the month and trainees are also encouraged attend the occasional Scottish Mountain Rescue training weekend. If you’re not as fit as you’d like to be, then get out there and prove to yourself and us that you can walk for six hours with a heavy rucksack.

If you’re unsure but determined to do something outdoors and different, why not get in touch? Have a chat with Lara or Dan Moss, our Training Officer. Come to one of our training days and discuss your aptitude, motivation and ambitions and have a fun day checking out what you’ve got to offer.

We want energy, creativity, drive and determination…and we want you to have some fun, enjoy camaraderie and a feeling of belonging to something worthwhile.

Closing date for applications and notes of interest is 30 April 2023

Contact Dan (training@kintailmrt.org.uk) to discuss coming along to one of our training days to see what we’re about!
