Kintail Mountain Rescue Team

Kintail Mountain Rescue Team is a charitable organisation run entirely by volunteers. Our role is to support Police Scotland in delivering their public safety obligation in remote and mountainous environments. We are part of Scottish Mountain Rescue, which is made up of over 1000 volunteers throughout the country.

We are on call 24 hours / 365 days of the year - Any Hour, Any Day, Any Weather

Who We Are

Our team consists of about 25 full team members who live around the team area and have demonstrated the necessary skills and commitment. Our volunteers come from a diverse range of backgrounds, professions and interests. The common traits we all share is a passion for the hills and a desire to help those in need.

The team relies heavily on public donations to maintain our income and therefore our effectiveness. Rescue operations in Kintail rely on ordinary members of the public making donations. The small population living in our area of operation means that donations from those living further afield are extremely important to our efforts to make this a safer place for locals and visitors alike.
